The
Abbotsford Rangers continue their streak of success after defeating the
Cascade Surge last night by a score of 4-0.
Once again David Vanderhoek opened the score for the Rangers when he
bicycled a volley over top of the Surge keeper in the 29th minute of
play. The score line remained 1-0 at the half with the Rangers
playing some confident play and it was only to be a matter of time
before they were to be rewarded with more goals.
In the second half that seemed to be just what happened. Jimmy
Severn made the score 2-0 and shortly after Vanderhoek scored his second
of the match and his 6th goal in 3 games.
The striker duo consisting of Jimmy Severn and Vanderhoek has made the
difference for the team in the past few weeks. Their hard work up
front and pressure has caused problems for the opposition and they are
being rewarded for it.
Up next for the Rangers are the Yakima Reds who visit today. The
Reds are coming off a 5-0 defeat to Tacoma Tide last night and will be
trying to split their road series.
Kick off is at 12:05 PM at Bateman Park.
